Installed in 2014, the Yulara Solar System is an operating 1.8 MW solar photovoltaic plant that was developed with the support of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
Comprising five sub-systems distributed across the local township of Yulara, it sits beside Central Australia’s renowned landmark Uluru (Ayers Rock) and in addition to generating electricity for the local grid, delivers insights into the performance of geographically-dispersed solar arrays and grid-connected solar generation in a remote area context.
